What is a slug

A slug is the human-readable part of a URL that points to a page.

Where the slug lives

In example.com/blog/hello-world, the bold hello-world is the slug. It is usually the last segment after the domain and path, telling people and search engines what the page is about.

What makes a good slug

Use only lowercase letters and hyphens, avoid spaces and special characters, and include the key words while keeping it short. This tool applies those rules automatically.
